Passengers flying with British Airways can soon enjoy quick wifi during flights without charge after a recent deal involving the billionaire's communications provider.

Complimentary and High-speed Wifi Across the Board

The carrier revealed that the free, “reliable and lightning-fast” connectivity service via SpaceX becomes offered to passengers in coach, premium economy, or first class from the coming month.

Expanded Deployment Across Various Airlines

The umbrella firm for British Airways, International Airlines Group, announced it had reached an deal involving Starlink for providing connectivity services across more than 500 aircraft operated by the group's airlines, such as the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.

Seamless Connectivity starting at Boarding to Landing

British Airways explained that the implementation of the service was part of a seven billion pound “transformation” initiative and will provide lag-free connectivity coverage to flyers from the gate to landing, including when in flight above large bodies of water and isolated areas.

Existing Connectivity Services

Restricted internet service is currently available to British Airways flyers on most of its planes through their .air system.

Enrollees of BA’s reward scheme may transmit texts and text-based messages onboard free of charge, whereas flyers who want to watch music, movies, or content during their travel and are not flying in first class might pay between four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 for a wifi package.
