Battlefield 6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Way Too Hard
The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started resorting to personalized games created through the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how grueling these missions have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Tasks
Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. It features four classes of assignments, but although many only reward cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of getting a dozen out of forty-one key firearms found within the game.
A number of these gated guns might eventually find their way on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration on Reddit
On Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. An individual player pointed out one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This task is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you aim to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
A different forum member pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is tough enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.
The Bypass
Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the developer's vision.
But when doing the challenges in a proper game seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?
Potential Changes
It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.
At the moment, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
